Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to join our team on a part-time evening basis. As an Environmental Services Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. This will involve cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, removing medical waste and trash, and performing interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures
  • Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures
  • Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies necessary to complete tasks according to department standards
  • Communicate and collaborate with other team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services
  • Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area
  • Assist visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, we will consider candidates with relevant experience in environmental services, janitorial services, or customer service.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the hospital for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Public service or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment
