Mainframe Programmer - DP Professionals Inc
DPP is seeking a Mainframe Programmer for a fully remote position with our client in Clemson, SC.
Work arrangement:
- Remote in the continental US. Must work the Eastern time zone
- W2 position; 12 months with possibility of extension
- The Mainframe Programmer will work collaboratively with the Medicaid Services MMIS and MEDS teams to make coding changes to COBOL and ADS programs using an IDMS network database or IDMS relational database, technical and design specifications.
- This project includes backfill on production systems, potentially working on smaller short-term projects and includes working with customers, development staff, operational staff, and QA staff.
- This is a challenging, fast-paced, team environment.
- Debug, unit test, and integration test coding changes.
- Support quality assurance staff during QA, user acceptance, and external testing by making needed coding changes.
- Communicate effectively in both written and spoken communication.
- Work collaboratively with agency staff and other contracted staff.
- Perform on-call duties on a rotational basis.
- 5+ years' experience with Mainframe
- 5+ years' experience with MVS COBOL
- 5+ years' experience with JCL
- 5+ years' experience with IDMS databases
- 2+ years' experience with CA-ADS
- ChangeMan (Version control)
- SAS
- File-AID
- Medicaid (MMIS) or insurance related claims programming experience
- Effective communication skills (written and oral)
- Adaptability, flexibility, self-motivation
- Problem-solving, analytical thinking, time management
- Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment
- High school diploma and 10 years experience in computer system development and modification.
